TWO CRAZY KIDS HAVING A CRAZY ADVENTURE

In December of 2008 Joe and I were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: to live abroad on the other side of the world, twelve full time zones from our family, friends, and everything we had begun to consider familiar.  When faced with the decision to embark on this next chapter of life, we jumped at the chance.  Despite the fact that we had a house, two cars, and a dog, our only thoughts were that if we did not take this new adventure, we would only have regrets for taking the “safe” road.

Some thought us strange, but more often than not, our family and friends were not only supportive, but excited about a good excuse to visit and a place to crash in Southeastern Asia.  We are so grateful for all of the wonderful people in our lives.

So here we are, selling all of our worldly possessions, putting everything in storage, and moving to a culture vastly different from our own.  This is merely a chronicle of our foibles and follies living in a culture that is vastly different from America.

The Dillon Factor
(noun) Not happening often, this momentous event occurs when Shelby and Joe are not only in the same country at the same time (rare enough), but are in the same high potential fun zone (HPFZ for short).  Mass antics and adventures follow shortly thereafter.
